Telling Tales. Swiss and Baltic Artists

Location: 5th floor, Gallery of Contemporary Art

The exhibition includes artists that create national heritage and socio-political history, as well as fictional stories and myths. The artists are connected by the collective history of storytelling, but also by the context of personal narratives. Today, the focus in the humanities has moved almost entirely from great narratives to details, i.e. micro-histories, which has given new life to storytelling. The artists highlight ephemeral phenomena, fragments and seemingly unimportant details, which, on closer inspection, reveal various microcosms, historical fragments and positions that today’s world would not notice otherwise.
