In the Style of Kristi Kongi: Colour Flow

The entertainment tour “Colour Flow” offers groups of friends, birthday parties and work teams an engaging and unifying experience of viewing and creating art at the exhibition “Kristi Kongi: Chromatic Drift”, and in the Kumu Art Studio workshop.

The artist Kristi Kongi has created a rich world of colour in Kumu’s Great Hall, extending beyond the boundaries of canvases and spilling onto the walls, windows and the museum’s courtyard space, creating a powerful sensory and spatial experience.

The program offers an entertaining yet meaningful overview of the exhibition. It explores the impact of colours and how they create mood, a sense of space and emotions. Various thought and movement exercises stimulate all of the senses and provide a meaningful art experience.
In the second part of the program, participants create an abstract painting composition on a ceramic tile in the Kumu Education Centre’s studio, based on personal memories and colour experiences, reflecting each person’s individual colour space. In this way, participants experience the inspiring and empowering power of colours first-hand. The artworks, created using special painting materials, serve as reminders of the positive energy gained from the exhibition visit and continue to radiate the energy of colour long after leaving the museum.

The program encourages creative thinking, self-expression and awareness of the present moment, offering the group a unifying and enriching experience amidst art.

Participants in the program:

  • explore how colour affects mood and spatial perception, and relate this to personal experience;
  • take part in a shared creative and interpretative process, discussing and reflecting on the experience with their peers;
  • feel and explore art, using movement and attentive observation as tools for interpretation;
  • create their own paintings, drawing on the visual and emotional impulses experienced during the exhibition.

Program duration: 2 hours
