A Fantastical Gouache Painting
In the gouache painting workshop, participants are invited to explore both the technical side of gouache, as well as the design of fantastic characters. Under the guidance of the artist Maari Soekov, dragons, serpents and unicorns take shape, inspired by European medieval imagery, Meso-American and Asian traditions, rock drawings and modern fantasy culture.
The artist Maari Soekov depicts the magic and mysticism of primal nature, while maintaining her roots in the poetic expressions of the real world. Her sources of inspiration include natural sciences, ecstatic shamanism, history, ancient cultures and folklore. Soekov is a freelance illustrator, painter and graphic designer with a background in photography, and has been participating in exhibitions and creative projects since 2010.
