Self-portraiture: Freedom and Construction
Wednesdays 29.03, 05.04 and 12.04, from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm
Course instructor Andrei Kedrin
The course will be held in Russian
In this three-part art course, the participants will create a self-portrait using various techniques. Each class will start with a theoretical background, followed by practical tasks. During the course, you will try out different drawing and painting materials, such as ink, paint brushes, felt-tip pens and watercolours. The course is perfect for beginners who would like to learn how to draw portraits but do not know where to start.
We will alternate between free and structured approaches. Instead of a self-portrait, you can also draw a portrait of a friend or a relative. Do not forget to bring a print-out of the model for your portrait!
By the end of the course, each participant will have completed three portraits and have gained an understanding of how to work in various techniques.
The course instructor, Andrei Kedrin, is an artist and art instructor who mainly focusses on illustration, watercolour and street art in his oeuvre. He initiated the Wednesday Sketching series of art events and co-founded the street art group Sodacats.
