Opening programme at the exhibition Triumph of Galatea: Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence

Starting on 13 February, Kumu’s 5th floor contemporary art gallery will host a new international group exhibition, Triumph of Galatea: Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence. On Saturday, 14 February, the exhibition’s opening programme will take place, featuring the following events:

12 noon ‒ 3 pm: Open workshop: Time Machine
At 12 noon: Exhibition tour with the artists and curator, in English. Participants include the curator Anders Härm and the artists Andreas Albrectsen, Olga Jürgenson, Jens Settergren and Jan Zuiderveld.
1.30 pm ‒ 3.30 pm: Performance. Andreas Albrectsen. Failed Attempt #1 (democary)
At 2 pm: Exhibition tour with the artists and curator, in Estonian. Participants include the curator Anders Härm and the artists Darja Popolitova, Marge Monko, Sten Saarits and Timo Toots.
At 4 pm: Discussion “Quo Vadis, Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence?”, in English. Participants include the artists Marge Monko, Sten Saarits, Jan Zuiderveld and Jens Settergren. The discussion is moderated by the technology philosopher Oliver Laas.

The event is a part of the public programme of the exhibition Triumph of Galatea: Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Kumu’s 20th anniversary programme.
With a title that references the myth of Pygmalion, the international group exhibition Triumph of Galatea: Art in the Age of Artificial Intelligence examines the transformation and development of human experience in culture and society in relation to the onslaught of new technologies. The exhibition will remain open at the Kumu Art Museum’s Contemporary Art Gallery until 9 August 2026.

Participation is free of charge with an annual pass to the Art Museum of Estonia.
