Mapping. Hits from the Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Arts. 15th Tallinn Print Triennial

As a satellite exhibition to the 15th Tallinn Print Triennial exhibition “For Love Not Money” in the Great Hall and on the 5th floor of Kumu, the exhibition “Mapping” in the B-wing of the 4th floor introduces the elite of the works of art from the world’s oldest international biennial of graphic arts, Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Art.
The Ljubljana Biennial of Graphic Art first took place in 1955 and troughout the years, nearly 5 000 artists from 80 countries have taken part of the Ljubljana Biennial. The exhibition introduces distinguished Grand Prix winners, including Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Victor Vasarely, Hans Hartung, Richard Hamilton, Jean Arp, Damien Hirst and many more.
The list of participants throughout the years also includes many Estonian artists, who in the Soviet times participated in the Biennial in secret, such as Jüri Arrak, Raul Meel, Concordia Klar, Ado Lill, Liina Siib, Urmas Viik and many others, including prizes won by Evald Okas, Vive Tolli, Vello Vinn, Mare Vint, Leonhard Lapin, Vladimir Makarenko, Kaisa Puustak, and Marko Laimre.
