Family Mornings: Mystical Characters
In October, Family Morning will take place at the “Leonora Carrington” exhibition in the 4th floor project space. We will discover what surrealism is, how old it is and how it emerged. We will explore Leonora Carrington’s life and art works and discuss what makes her one of the most interesting surrealist painters and novelists. With guidance from Kumu’s tutor(s), we will create our own surrealist storylines in the exhibition space.
At the end of the Family Morning, all participants are welcome to practice their hand in a creative workshop in the studio of Kumu’s Education Centre.
About the Programme
Kumu Family Mornings are a series of events aimed for families with children aged 4–8. Family Mornings offer a great opportunity to visit exhibitions and create art with your children. Each month, we will visit one of Kumu’s exhibitions where we will play, ask questions, and discover stories and meanings behind the artworks. In addition, children and parents are encouraged to experiment with different creative workshops in the studio.
