To distinguish the anniversary year from others, it has its own logo, created in collaboration with graphic design students from the Estonian Academy of Arts. Our wish was for the anniversary logo to be created by young people who are the same age as Kumu itself, bringing their energy and perception of Kumu to the design. This led to a collaboration with the Graphic Design Department of the Estonian Academy of Arts, and the logo was developed as part of coursework by second-year students supervised by Aimur Takk (Tüpokompanii), Ott Kagovere and Ivar Sakk (Estonian Academy of Arts).
The students worked in pairs and submitted one or more proposals, from which the winner was selected by a jury made up of supervisors and Kumu representatives. The winning logo was created by Mia Greta Sepp and Berit Raun.
The anniversary logo uses Kumu’s original logo — created for Kumu’s opening by Division — and adds the number 20. This special logo will be used throughout the year on Kumu’s advertisements, posters, books, tickets and more.
