The opening weekend of the exhibition is a wonderful opportunity for people interested in Michel Sittow to visit the exhibition, meet the curators and get their books about the exhibition signed.
10.00 am – Curator’s tour at the exhibition, in Estonian
The tour will be guided by Greta Koppel, a curator of the Art Museum of Estonia. The meeting point is in the Kumu atrium, near the door to the exhibition hall. Participation with a museum ticket.
At 11.30 am – Curator’s tour at the exhibition, in English
The tour will be guided by John Hand, the exhibition’s curator from the National Gallery of Art, Washington. The meeting point is in the Kumu atrium, near the door to the exhibition hall. Participation with a museum ticket.
2 pm – Presentation of the exhibition catalogue and book, in Estonian and English
The curators Greta Koppel and John Hand present the two publications accompanying the exhibition. The presentations take place in the Kumu atrium.
The English-language catalogue was published in January in connection with the opening of the Michel Sittow exhibition in the National Gallery of Art, Washington. The thorough compilation with high-quality reproductions includes articles by six international researchers of Sittow’s oeuvre.
The Estonian-language volume Michel Sittow. Euroopa meister. Madalmaade kunstnik. Tallinna kodanik has been put together especially for the Kumu exhibition. The author of the book is the curator Great Koppel and it provides an easily readable overview of Michel Sittow’s life and work.
4 pm – Open expert tour of the exhibition, in Russian
The tour will be guided by Darja Andrejeva, one of the expert Russian guides of the exhibition. The meeting point is in the Kumu atrium, near the door to the exhibition hall. Participation with a museum ticket.

1 pm – Master class for children and the presentation of a children’s book on the exhibition, in Estonian
The master class and the children’s book presentation take place together in the Kumu atrium. Everybody is welcome!
The children’s author Anti Saar and the illustrator Urmas Viik have come up with a fascinating story, Mina, Milda ja meister Michel (Milda, Master Michel and I), which takes the reader on an adventure in both the present day and 500 years in the past, when Michel Sittow lived, painted and travelled from one European court to another.
