Guitarist Paul Neitsov’s Solo Concert
A man whose name is usually accompanied by the title “guitar virtuoso” and who has been called the Estonian Paganini by the TV host Hannes Võrno, has had a lucrative solo career and has participated in a number of bands, such as Svjata Vatra, Sireli and Wilhelm, as well as in duos with Brigita Murutar, Margus Vaher, Indrek Kalda, Ruslan Trochinski, Aapo Ilves, Jaan Pehk and Tõun. Paul modestly refers to himself as a simple music man.
Paul took up the guitar at the age of twelve and started more serious studies at fourteen. In 2009 and 2010 he won the Best Plucked String Instrumentalist award in a competition organised by the Viljandi Traditional Music Centre. In 2013, he received the Best Instrumentalist prize in the music writing contest ERMO of the Percussion Department of the Eller Music School. In addition, Paul won the Tiit Paulus Young Guitarist Award in 2015 and was nominated a Young Culture Promoter in 2016.
