Information for event organizers

Kumu Art Museum only rents space. The event organizer is responsible for the organizational side.
In addition, the opening of exhibition halls and additional museum-related activities during events can be requested.

Organization

If you would like to use your own graphic elements and floral arrangements etc., they can be delivered into the inner courtyard from Laagna tee. The times and individuals involved should be coordinated with Kumu in advance.
We will need the licence plate number, driver’s name and contact information, time of entry and exit.
Please let Kumu know at least 24 hours in advance.

If necessary, the customer is asked to enter into the corresponding agreements with the Estonian Authors’ Society (such as for licensing of music used at the event).

A coat check area accommodating 1,200 customers is available for use in the atrium of the second floor of Kumu (the large foyer). If the event organizer supervises the coat check, the coat check numbers can be in use, if the coat check is unattended, the coat check numbers will not be in use. By separate agreement, museum staff can be posted at the coat check.

Events on Kumu premises* can be held during times that the museum is closed to the public.
Kumu is open to the public from January to December at the following times:
Tue–Wed 10am–6pm, Thu 10am–8pm, Fri–Sun 10am–6pm
Events can be started half an hour after the museum’s evening closing. On days that the museum is closed there is no restriction on start time. The event can run until midnight (longer by special arrangement).
The preparations in the atrium can be started from 5.30 pm if no disruption is posed to museum operations.
* not including the Kumu auditorium and its lobby (1st floor)

As the main entrance of Kumu is open only when the museum is open, we ask organizers to notify their customers that the museum can be entered only from the entrance at the Kadriorg side.

On public holidays, the museum is closed and cannot host events.

Payment

At least two weeks before the event, organizers must send a letter of guarantee made out to Chief Executive Office of the Art Museum of Estonia Sirje Helme. The letter of guarantee must be on a company or institution’s letterhead. The guarantee must guarantee the preservation of public property and payment of the invoice. The letter of guarantee should specify the name/theme of the event and additional services, date and the duration of the event. Please also include the full name, address and registry code of the institution ordering the event.
