The exhibition is part of the traditional Estonian Academy of Arts springtime event, which for the first time reaches four main exhibition spots in Tallinn: Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design, Design and Architecture Gallery, Estonian Academy of Arts Gallery, and Kumu Art Museum.
“This year young art has especially vital presence in Estonia – with several exhibitions held simultaneously and the youth biennial following. The public should keep their eyes open and interest high because the new generation of artists is moving on strongly…and it’s about time for the collectors to start making offers,” said the Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts, commenting the upcoming event.
Kumu Art Museum will show works by 22 master and bachelor level students from the faculties of Fine Arts and Media: Kertu Ehala, Ave Teeääre, Eveli Varik (Graphic Art), Sirli Hein, Alvar Reisner, Rait Rosin (Painting), Indrek Köster, Taavi Talve (Sculpture), Siiri Taimla (Drawing), Liisi Eelma, Bie Kari Erenurm, Merike Estna, Marianne Männi, Laineli Parrest, Fideelia-Sige Roots, Rauno Teider (Interdisciplinary Arts), Laura Kuusk, Marge Monko, Tatjana Muravskaja, Reimo Võsa-Tangsoo (Photography), Jelena Girlin, Mari-Liis (Karula) Bassovskaja (Scenography). The exhibition was designed by Mari Kurismaa.
The exhibition Level 07 offers three other exhibitions in the series located in downtown Tallinn: the Faculty of Architecture will be presenting works in the Design and Architecture Gallery (May 31-June 22), Pärnu blvd 6; the audiene may view works by the Faculty of Cultural Heritage and Conservation at the EAA Gallery (May 31-June 10), Tartu blvd 1, and Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design (May 31-June 22) will show works by sudents of the Faculty of Design.
